    black flies
alt-psych-rock-reverbilicious-shoegaze… if that ever were a genre, these guys would be the faces of it’. Bristol’s sonically boundary pushing trio leapt out of the woodwork mid-2019 and since their emergence have fallen nothing short of delivering spectacularly high-octane live performances. Echoing a steady influential dose of transatlantic, hard-hitting but intelligently guitar-driven bands such as Balance and Composure and Pianos Become The Teeth. The storytelling ability associated with these artists is also apparent in the vividness and poignancy of the band’s lyrics, marked by the throaty howl of singer/guitarist, Joshua Milton.

    blank atlas
Bristol punk rock trio Blank Atlas, have been manufacturing distasteful riffage since 2015, aimed at fans of everything from McFly to Meshuggah.
2016 saw the release of debut EP ‘Solitude’, recorded by Neil Kennedy (Creeper, Milk Teeth, Press to MECO.) Since then the band have devoted their time to touring and have played shows with bands such as Dream State, Allusondrugs, Fatherson, Anavae and Max Raptor. The band released singles ‘I Was Told This Is How Wars Start’ and 'Sing For Something’ and their second EP 'Canvas' in 2018 and singles ‘Connections’, I Feel Great’ and ‘Pity Party’ throughout 2019 and 2020. Since lockdown the boys have been writing their first album and playing shows now that live music is back. Look out for the debut album later on in 2022.

    blanket
The band have toured extensively in support of their debut record ‘How To Let Go’, supporting the likes of Zeal & Ardor, Polyphia, Cellar Darling and Tides of Man and played festival sets at the likes of Bluedot, ArcTanGent, Supersonic, Lytham and Desert Fest.
2021 marks the point where Blanket carve out their own identity. Skilled musicians, filmmakers, designers and soundtrack artists, their latest project takes the post-rock blueprint of the band’s 2018 debut full-length LP, and infuses it with reverberating waves of shoegaze eclecticism and sudden outbursts of savage metal. The widescreen, cinematic expanse of Blanket’s sound still remains however, and rather than neuter their grand ambitions, these additional elements have simply expanded their sonic pallet without compromising the grandiose vision that gives Blanket their identity.

Mustering up the tyrants of shoegaze, grunge’s past and echoing influences of early 2000s rock, IOTA bare all with their raw and driving sound in Bristol’s DIY scene. Honed in their lock-away studio, their sound is owed to a heavily focused, collaborative writing process.
Fronted by a vocal that breathes emotive grit, IOTA channels the voice that’s somewhere deep in your head. Without warning, whispers become all-out screams. Dreamlike harmonies evoke deep-rooted feelings that coarse through the band's ever-present distorted climaxes.
Guitars interweave with enigmatic chemistry. Noisy rhythm guitars lead to the far-out reaches of your periphery while lead lines soak through. Nonchalant bass provides a tone that barks like a stray dog – it will look you dead in the eyes and then bite you. Drums are a bear trap disguised as an alarm clock, waking you up with an adrenaline-fueled rush of blood to the head.
IOTA will make you violently shake your head and shed a tear in the process…

Mutant-Thoughts’ own brand of genre-defying rock is a cunningly original amalgam of Latin-influenced beats, brooding synthscapes and restless rhythmic energy.
Drawing on the sounds of his native Colombia, vocalist and composer Han Luis Cera counterposes deep grooves with a lingering melancholia, making music which is darkly evocative while maintaining a strong pop sensibility.

    sonic rain
London born, Budapest raised, Sonic Rain’s eclectic electronic style reflects the diversity of his homes and his sounds are set to continue to conquer Europe in 2022.
To say that Sonic Rain’s musicality was diverse may be selling him short. Boris Garland trained as a classical pianist from a young age before he began to delve into the world of electronic music and could be what creates his poetic soundscape of electronic genres. Inspired by labels Metalheadz and Symmetry Recordings, you can hear elements of nostalgic ‘90s club vibes, underground jazz and rhythmic R&B, tied together in a unique drum & bass package - done his way.
Before moving to Bristol in 2018 Sonic Rain made an impression on the Budapest music scene having resident DJ slots at club nights and performing at illegal raves. The strength of his live performances pushed him to appear several times on pirate radio station Tilos and managed to link him with promoting agency Bladerunnaz, landing him DJ sets on the A38 boat and at techno club Lärm.
Currently residing in Budapest, Sonic Rain is getting ready to conquer more of Europe with his second Future Citizen EP, released on 4 Corners Music. Last year, his debut single ‘Unity (featuring Libby Rollings)’ was released on Peer Pressure Records and got played on BBC Radio 1’s Drum & Bass Show with René la Vice. His music is being supported by heavyweight DJs including Philth, Melinki and Nastia, so stay tuned as it’s about to pour for Sonic Rain.
